Sorrell was born in Brighton and whilst he pursued a teaching and lecturing career in Northamptonshire, he has been drawn back many times to the varied imagery of both the seaside city and the surrounding downland landscape. His prints are developed into small, limited editions in his workshop. He maintains a keen interest in many forms of printmaking, exhibiting locally and nationally, including at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.
